"Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." - A. A. Milne
I liked this quote, however it had never got to me as much as it did today :D Today was the first day of the term, and we've already gotten two assignments - from the same class, and due around the same time!
I would really like to focus on my online courses and important-er stuff, so I thought and remembered from a Marie Forleo interview with Seth Godin, a 'nugget of wisdom' (as they call it!). Seth put productivity into another perspective - that it was how much you could get done in a certain amount of time. The higher it got, the more you got done in the same amount of time! It lit up my mind - a perspective like that is really cool.
So, spent about an hour at my cousins house today, and did stuff to get ready for the night, some playing... hehe. Even so, I still got the basic outline of the story written (in a storyish-like way, although that's all good :D), as well as a character chart, some research about the kind of story we need to write, and extra notes-to-self. Right, also started a little bit on the story. I'm more than halfway, since writing is a nice thing to do, if only there weren't a word limit. Then again, it's pretty loose - 600-1000 words which is okay.
The assignment is an original Gothic short-story, which we'll then need to annotate with our Gothic strategies. The other assignment I've chosen to do with some friends, about analysing other Gothic stories/films, which we'll need to decide.
Have faith in yourself, you're more and more than you think. It's only when you find out your potential when you won't think about limits anymore. Take care of yourself!
