"How are you?"
How's your day? What are you doing? What's up? Nice questions that express interest in the other person's life, and that is what makes you engaged and the other person happy to be with you. It all goes around, doesn't it?
Even better, asking with a question designed for the person to answer the question is something I definitely find an excellent conversational point, and talks about this say this too. Something which they can interpret, or can answer with the most abstract answer - how glorious, hehe ^^. Or even, it could be a question where they can find themselves asking: 'What do you mean?'. Those sorts of questions not only makes it fun for them, it makes it fun for you as well.
It's just there. And it just is. How lovely. Have a goodnight :)
